How hard are the coatings you apply?

As a general rule our electorless nickel can be deposited from 48 to 52 RC, but
can be baked as hard as 60 to 65 RC, Hard Chrome 65 to 70 RC, Salt Bath Nitriding treatment
case hardens 52 to 58 RC. Some material can achieve 64 to 68 RC.

What is the difference between Salt Bath Nitriding , Melonite® and Nu-Tride®?

These are all trade names and these processes are all equivalent to one another.

How long is your turn around time?

Under normal working conditions we try to have your parts shipped back to you
within 5 to 7 working days. With advance notice, 1 or 2 days can be achieved.

The color of the Salt Bath Nitriding treatment is a nice satin black.

Can you mask off parts if I don't want the whole part coated?

We can mask off the nickel and the harc chrome coatings if necessary, but generally
we do not mask off Salt Bath Nitriding treatments.

How thick do you coat parts?

The nickel coatings are usually applied from .0001 to .002 of an inch, but can be
applied thicker if conditions require more coating.
The hard chrome can be applied from .00001 to .005 on an average day.
The Salt Bath Nitriding treatment can treat .0002 to .0008 of an inch on the surface
of the part depending on customer requirements.
